ST CATHARINES, Ont. -- The Thunderwolves big guns go going on Saturday, but the men's hockey team could only escape their season-opening road trip with a single point.

Keighan Gerrie and Griffen Fox scored first-period goals to stake Lakehead to an early 2-1 lead. But Jacob Roach evened the score late in the second, beating T-Wolves goaltender Christian Cicigoi on an unassisted effort and Zach Taylor won it 3-2 for the Brock Badgers in overtime on the power play to earn the home team the weekend sweep.

Cicigoi faced 19 shots in taking the overtime loss, while the Thunderwolves hit Brock goalie Connor Ungar with 26 shots in the contest.

Lakehead returns home to face Waterloo on Friday at Saturday night at Fort William Gardens at 7 p.m.
