WATERLOO, Ont. – The Lakehead Thunderwolves three-game winning streak came to an end of Friday night, but the OUA men’s hockey team still managed to pick up a point.

Josh Van Unen and Tyler Ho scored power play goals 33 seconds apart in the final six minutes of regulation to erase a 4-2 Waterloo Warriors lead, but the T-Wolves couldn’t complete the comeback, falling 5-4 in a shootout in the second of three games on the road this weekend.

Vanu Unen had two goals on the night, with Tyler Jette scoring the Thunderwolves other tally at 11:27 of the first, tying the game 1-1 at the time.

Dan Walker had a pair for Waterloo, with singles going to Chase Campbell and Connor Lovie.

Joe Mack, Olivier Pouliot and Griffen Fox failed to beat Dan Murphy in the shootout. Campbell scored the lone goal of the penalty-shot competition, beating Max Wright who was good on 41 of 44 shots.

Lakehead (4-1-1) will wrap up their three-game road trip on Saturday night against Wilfrid Laurier.
