Thunderwolves rebound with 15-point win over Lions

THUNDER BAY – The Lakehead Thunderwolves pulled away in the fourth quarter to outlast the York Lions 87-72.

All five starters hit double digits for the home side, coming off an 87-85 overtime loss to the Lions the night before.

Tyler Sagl led all scorers with 20 points and Harold Santacruz, who sat out Fridays contest, returned to the lineup with a double-double, scoring 18 and grabbing 10 boards.

Nathan Bilamu finished with 15 and Chris Sagl had 14 points and 12 assists for a double-double of his own.

Evan Shadkami, who put up 37 on Friday night, had 17. Joshua Noton led the Lions with 19.

Lakehead (2-20 heads to the nation’s capital next weekend for games against Ottawa and Carleton, who dropped its second of the season on Saturday against Windsor.
