OSHAWA – The Lakehead Thunderwolves may be the most underrated 8-0 team in the nation.

Now, with a win over a top 10 team, they might finally get some respect.

The T-Wolves rolled into Oshawa on Friday night and didn’t lose a quarter, dispatching the No. 9-ranked Ontario Tech 85-68 while maintaining their perfect record through eight games this season.

Harold Santacruz and Nathan Bilamu delivered 17 points apiece for Lakehead, with Chris Sagl chipping in 16 and Adrian Nowak coming off the bench to score 13, going 3-of-7 from beyond the arc.

The T-Wolves were a combined 11-for-27 from three-point range, and held the Ridgebacks to just five made threes, on 24 attempts.

Lakehead’s bench outscored UOIT’s 26-12.

UOIT’s Keon Baker led all scorers with 24 points.

The loss dropped the Ridgebacks back to .500, at 4-4.

No. 12 Lakehead heads to Kingston on Saturday to take on No. 11 Queen’s in another test for the upstart Thunderwolves.
