Thunderwolves WBB finish with second straight win

SUDBURY – The Lakehead Thunderwolves will hit the offseason on a positive note.

The T-Wolves took to the road this weekend and completed a two-game sweep, Saturday’s 65-53 win over Laurentian following Friday night’s triumph over the Nipissing Lakers.

The Thunderwolves (6-16) won their of their last four outings, and narrowly missed a playoff berth in the OUA Central.

Ally Burke led the way for LU, collecting 24 points, hitting three three-pointers and going nine-for-nine from the free-throw line.

Sidney Crawford added 16 points off the bench and Kelly-Ann Coulombe snagged a dozen boards.

Emilie Lafond had 10 to lead the Voyageurs in scoring.

Despite the loss, the Voyageurs claimed the 12th and final playoff spot in the OUA postseason.

Laurentian tied with York at 7-15, but owned the tiebreaker thanks to a 68-59 win on Nov. 15.
