Toronto-area resident charged with drug trafficking

THUNDER BAY — A resident of the Greater Toronto Area faces numerous charges after Ontario Provincial Police executed a search warrant in the City of Thunder Bay.

Members of the local detachment, the OPP's Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, and Thunder Bay Police searched a residence on Newberry Crescent.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of numerous suspected illegal drugs including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and ecstasy, as well as six rounds of ammunition, cash, and paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking.

A 31-year-old man from Brampton is charged with multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and possession of proceeds of crime.

He was held in custody pending a court appearance at a later date.
