The world’s largest mining show will return to an in-person format in 2022.
The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) has announced that its 90th annual convention will take place March 7-9, 2022, in Toronto. An online event will follow March 10-11.
“We recognize that staying connected is especially important, and this year’s format ensures everyone has the opportunity to participate in the world’s premier mineral exploration and mining convention,” the organization announced on Sept. 9.
In 2021, PDAC shifted the event to a virtual format in respect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The PDAC convention annually attracts upwards of 25,000 people from around the world, who converge on Toronto over four days to take in tradeshows, presentations by industry experts, panel discussions, workshops, product demonstrations, and more.
One of the largest pavilions during the event is the Northern Ontario Mining Showcase, which provides booths for more than 100 Northern Ontario mining service and supply companies to exhibit their products and services.
The delegation also hosts the popular Northern Ontario Night, a social evening that features music, food and drink from Northern Ontario producers.
PDAC said in protecting the health and safety of attendees, it would follow all safety measures put in place by federal and local authorities as the COVID pandemic continues.
