THUNDER BAY — Tourism Thunder Bay and Flair Airlines– the newest airline to serve Thunder Bay – have launched a contest to promote exploration of the city when normal travel patterns resume.

The contest offers two round-trip tickets to Thunder Bay plus three nights in the Delta waterfront hotel, a car rental, passes to local attractions and restaurant gift certificates.

Starting Tuesday, participants are invited to post their favourite Thunder Bay experience on Facebook or Instagram, tag the friends or family members they're inviting to visit, and use #TBFlair to enter the contest.

It runs for three weeks, ending on June 22, 2021.

The contest is in conjunction with the start of Flair service to Thunder Bay this week.

The Alberta-based low-fare carrier included the city in its planned expansion to 18 new Canadian destinations this spring and summer.

It offers two fights a week between Thunder Bay and Toronto., using Boeing 737 aircraft.

A third weekly flight will be added in July.

NOTE: A previous version of this story has been updated. A Flair spokesperson initially said service to Thunder Bay would start on June 5.  However, the company later issued a new statement noting that the inaugural flight had occurred on Tues. June 1
