THUNDER BAY — One lane of Highway 61 south of Thunder Bay Airport will be closed during daytime hours for an extended period starting Tuesday, Oct. 13.
The Ministry of Transportation says the traffic restriction is expected to last until Friday, Oct. 23.
Traffic near the Rosslyn Road overpass will be reduced to a single lane between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.
The MTO says this will enable work crews to complete two separate projects.
One is the painting of structural steel at the nearby CNR underpass structure.
A crew will paint a new girder that was installed after the structure was hit by an over-height vehicle in November 2019.
The other project involves waterproofing and asphalt repair at the Rosslyn Road overpass to address an isolated location where the waterproofing has deteriorated.
