RED LAKE – An 18-year-old Ear Falls resident is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop.
According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, officers were on patrol Thursday, Feb. 3 around 8:38 p.m. and initiated a traffic stop after witnessing a traffic violation.
While speaking with the officer observations were made that the driver's ability was impaired.
The driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation by drug and returned to the detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old of Ear Falls was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.
The 18-year-old was released by way of undertaking for Red Lake court on March 17 to answer to the charges.
