THUNDER BAY — A city man has completed an epic voyage across the Atlantic Ocean.

Dan Turk arrived Sunday in Portugal, about six weeks after he set sail from Halifax.

Turk's friend Morgan Ellis reported Monday that he is docked in the city of Portimão, on the country's southern coast.

TBnewswatch has reached out to Ellis for an interview.

Two weeks ago, he was resting in the Azores Islands before starting on the final 1,800 km leg of of the trip.

At the time, he said that his handmade 5.8-metre boat, Little Bea, and the equipment he brought with him, had all performed well.
