Treasure Exchange Days returns for the weekend

Residents looking to score some new finds for their homes can check across the city for reusable items left curbside this weekend

THUNDER BAY — Treasure Exchange Days are back this weekend.

Across the city, residents can put usable household items, furniture, small appliances, toys, and more for free at the curb starting tonight at 5 p.m.

Items can stay out on both Saturday and Sunday, but must be removed from the curb by 7 p.m. on Sunday.

It's also good practice to leave a "free" sign on the items, letting treasure hunters know the goods are available for plundering.

This is all in an effort to divert waste from the landfill, especially if the item is in good and usable condition.

Treasure Exchange Days, which began in 2014, is an action item in the City’s Solid Waste Management Strategy.
