THUNDER BAY – Trowbridge Falls and Chippewa Park campgrounds are now open for reservations for the 2025 camping season.
City officials say if you’re planning a family getaway, a scenic retreat or an outdoor celebration, these campgrounds offer the "perfect setting to make lasting memories."
However, these seasonal campsite spots are limited, with nine available at Trowbridge Falls and seven at Chippewa Park.
“We are thrilled to open reservations for the 2025 camping season,” said Christy Howells, administrative support services supervisor for the City of Thunder Bay in a news release.
“We welcome all residents and visitors to experience these two incredible campgrounds.”
Chippewa Park's campground is found on Lake Superior’s shores and offers various camping options, including cabins, RV sites and tent spots. It also has washroom and shower facilities, a community kitchen, concessions, beaches, amusement rides and more.
Closer to the woods beside the Current River, the Trowbridge Falls campground features RV and tent sites, washroom and shower facilities, hiking trails, biking moguls, a playground, river wading spots and more.
This year, Trowbridge Falls also offers day-use sites for events, including birthday parties and picnics.
These campsite and cabin bookings are available at both sites on a first-come, first-served basis.
The City encourages residents to start planning their summer adventure and enjoy the convenience of camping close to Thunder Bay at Trowbridge Falls or Chippewa Park.
Residents can find more information on how to book their campsite online on the City’s website.
