THUNDER BAY -- A trucking company has been charged with a Highway Traffic Act offence after a tractor trailer unit separated, causing a crash on Highway 61 last week.
Provincial police officers responded to the Friday afternoon crash, which happened on the highway just south of Boundary Drive.
Police on Monday said the northbound trailer separated from the tractor, with the trailer crossing into oncoming traffic and colliding with a southbound vehicle. The male driver of that vehicle was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
The company that owns the transport was charged with an unsafe vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act.
