OTTAWA -- Canadian voters will head to the polls late next month.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Gov. Gen. Mary Simon Sunday morning to approve his request to dissolve the 43rd Parliament and draw up the 338 writs of election

Gov. Gen. Mary Simon accepted his request. 

Voting day is scheduled for Sept. 20.

The campaign will last 36 days.
