THUNDER BAY -- A Thunder Bay man convicted on high-level drug trafficking charges has had his appeal denied by the Supreme Court, and is back behind bars.
John Tsekouras, 44, was arrested in 2012 after an undercover joint police operation called Project Dolphin. Police labelled him the kingpin of a criminal organization trafficking in cocaine and marijuana.
In March 2015 he was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison, but was released on bail pending an appeal to the Ontario Court of Appeal.
He's now expected to serve out his sentence at a federal penitentiary.
