Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say the robbery took place around 8 p.m. Monday. A lone male threatened to shoot an employee at Barb's Laundromat on May Street.

The man then took all of the cash from the register and cigarettes before fleeing on foot.

Police officers picked up a 39-year-old man who matched the suspect's description on Bethune Street and a 32-year-old woman who is also believed to be involved in the robbery.

Police said the two are cousins.

Both have been charged with robbery and will appear in court on Tuesday.
