THUNDER BAY -- A pair of local tourism companies have been recognized for offering a top-calibre product.
Wilderness North and Sail Superior have been added to the Ontario Signature Experience Collection.
The partnership allows bucket-list type experiences to be marketed on a global scale. The two companies have met the rigorous criteria to be accepted among the 29 top new tourism experiences across Ontario.
City Tourism manager Paul Pepe says it is very significant that two of the new partners are from Thunder Bay.
He added that he believes being at the same level as the other destinations in the partnership will be a huge boost for tourism in our region.
Fort William Historical Park was added to the program last year, and Pepe says with two more being added in other parts of Northwestern Ontario, the region now has great brand alignment for its tourism industry.
