Two new COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay district

One case results from close contact, the other from travel outside NW Ontario

THUNDER BAY — There were 21 active cases of COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay district as of Wednesday morning.

The district health unit reported two new cases and one resolved case in the preceding 24 hours.

Both patients live in the City of Thunder Bay or nearby townships.

One person was infected as the result of close contact, while the other case is due to travel outside Northwestern Ontario.

TBDHU does not disclose specific communities where COVID-19 is active.

However, Geraldton District Hospital reported Wednesday morning that 12 current cases involve residents of Greenstone or surrounding First Nations.
