THUNDER BAY — Two people from the Greater Toronto Area face drug-related charges after Thunder Bay Police found them in the apartment of a resident of a social housing complex.
Officers were sent to McIvor Court on Lincoln Street shortly before dawn on Friday following reports that an assault had recently occurred there.
They located two men who were unwanted in the apartment.
Further investigation revealed they were in possession of a quantity of suspected fentanyl.
Police seized cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug-trafficking.
An 18-year-old Brampton resident and a 30-year-old Toronto man are both charged with multiple offences including possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, and being unlawfully in a dwelling.
The younger man is also charged with failure to comply with a sentence and failure to comply with a release order.
The older man is also charged with breach of probation.
Both accused appeared in bail court on Saturday.
The 18-year-old was released with conditions until a future court date, while the older man was remanded into custody with a future court date.
McIvor Court is operated by the Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration Board.
