TMU edges Thunderwolves

TORONTO – Coming off a huge win against the McGill Redbirds, the Lakehead Thunderwolves came out a little flat on Friday night on the road in Toronto.

The Toronto Metropolitan Bold opened with a pair of goals in the first period and never trailed the rest of the way, edging the Thunderwolves 4-3.

Kevin Gursoy scored three of Toronto’s four goals, Connor Bowie netting the second tally of the night for the Bold, beating LU goaltender Max Wright with eight seconds to go in the opening stanza.

Olivier Pouliot, Josh Van Unen and Nicolas DeGrazia scored for the T-Wolves (8-7-1), who were outshot 35-27 on the night.

Kai Edmonds made 24 saves to earn the win between the pipes for Toronto Metropolitan , who will look to complete the weekend sweep on home ice on Saturday night.

Lakehead’s next home game will be a non-conference affair against the Manitoba Bisons on Dec. 29.
