A hole remains along the Strand Avenue side of the building.

THUNDER BAY – A pick-up truck smashed through the side of a north-side grocery story on Friday night, punching a gaping hole in a wall on the building.

Police and emergency crews were called to the Dawson Road Safeway.

There’s no word on any injuries or the cause of the crash, but damage to the inside and outside of the store appears to be extensive.

The incident took place at about 11:30 p.m.
