THUNDER BAY — As the 2024 Ontario Winter Games are quickly approaching, the city is continuing to recruit volunteers for the event.

The games will be happening at multiple venues across the city from Feb. 16 to 26, 2024, and the city expects it will need more than 700 volunteers to help run the games smoothly.

Roles for volunteers are vast and include assisting with the accreditation of participants (athletes, coaches, officials, etc.), security, food services or transportation.

The games are expected to bring over 2,000 participants of coaches, athletes, officials and more, with athletes aged 12 to 18, to the region.

Individuals looking to volunteer have until Nov. 30 to apply
