THUNDER BAY – A search warrant executed at a north side address last week resulted in a pair of arrests and a seizure of a quantity of suspected illegal drugs.
Police say they arrests came following an investigation into alleged drug activity at a Picton Avenue address.
The warrant was executed last Wednesday, when two suspects were found inside the house, along with quantities of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine and oxycodone. Police also found paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
The drugs have an estimated street value of more than $25,000.
Officer also seized more than $5,000 in cash.
Police have charged a 39-year-old Thunder Bay woman and a 34-year-old Thunder Bay woman with one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking for each of the suspected four drugs seized, along with possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
Both individuals were remanded into custody after an initial court appearance.
It is Newswatch policy not to name suspects in cases in which it is unlikely we will follow the case through to its conclusion in court.
