Waste collection to move up a day due to Good Friday holiday

Residents in all four zones are being asked to put their curbside waste out a day earlier than usual, with collection not taking place on Friday, April 18.

THUNDER BAY — Easter weekend is bumping up waste collection for all Thunder Bay residents by a day.

According to a release issued on Thursday, there will be no waste collection on Good Friday, April 18.

Those who normally have a Tuesday collection day will have their curbside waste picked up on Monday, April 14. Wednesday collection will shift to Tuesday, Thursday collection moves to Wednesday and those with a regular Friday pick-up date will have their waste collected on Thursday.

The city’s solid waste and recycling facility will be closed on Good Friday, open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, and closed on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
