THUNDER BAY – A water main break closed a section of Water Street Saturday afternoon, with a reopening time uncertain.
The street was closed to southbound traffic for a short stretch between Cumberland and Bay streets, creating some backups on nearby residential streets.
Thunder Bay police were on scene to divert traffic.
The break began around noon, said a City of Thunder Bay worker at the scene. He could not yet estimate when the issue would be resolved.
A previous water main break on March 2 shut down a nearby area of Water Street, between Park Avenue and Pearl Street.
