Weapons call leads to Trillium Way standoff

Police have weapons drawn at the scene, crouching behind cover as the incident continues to unfold on Sunday afternoon.

THUNDER BAY -- Police have surrounded a Trillium Way residence, several officers with weapons drawn and crouching behind cover, responding to a weapons call on Sunday afternoon. 

At least eight police vehicles have been deployed to the scene. 

The incident was called in at about 4 p.m. 

The public is being asked to avoid the area and police, and that anyone who might have pertinent information to contact investigators. 

No further information was provided by police at this time. 

Beverly Street is partially blocked off, between Ravenwood Avenue and Vista Lane.
