Special weather statement in effect for: City of Thunder Bay
Significant snowfall amounts today and tonight.
An intensifying low pressure system over Wisconsin this morning will track slowly northward today. A band of rain over parts of Northwestern Ontario will change to snow early this morning as temperatures drop.
The snow will spread to Lake Superior this morning and may be heavy at times. The snow will taper off overnight into Thursday morning.
Total snowfall amounts with the system are expected to be in the 8 to 15 cm range. Areas near and south of Thunder Bay are expected to receive the higher amounts.
