What’s Poppin’: April 5 and 6
Saturday:
An April Yard Sale will be held at the West Arthur Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Hub Bazaar will feature author, entrepreneur, and podcast host Lori J. Paras in its ongoing Community Wellness Series. This free community event will take place on Saturday 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., offering an inspiring conversation on staying creative, passionate, and purposeful beyond age 65.
Mz. Molly and Friendz will be hosting a storytime event at the Waverley Resource Library from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. After the storytime, Mz. Molly's Friendz, Faux Rocious and Fairy Contagious will lead a 30-minute guided crafting session.
The Goods and Co Market and Woodside Bar will host a Wheelies Disco Boogie from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. Amy Didemus and David Shaw will play an all-vinyl set of mid-tempo boogie bangers for the night. Admission is free, but guests are asked to bring their dancing shoes, skates and retro outfits. There will also be a shoe-friendly dance floor for skateless attendees who want in on the vibe. It is 19+ after 9 p.m.
The Wayland Bar and Grill will hold the Voodoo Prophecy at 9:30 p.m. for its April events.
Mother of Wolves will be live at The Foundry at 10 p.m. The 19+ event will have a $5 cover fee.
Sunday:
The 2023 Super Mario Bros. movie will be played at the West Thunder Community Centre at 1 p.m. It will feature movie-themed activities, crafts/colouring, Movie Bingo and a photo booth. The canteen will also be open, selling burgers, fries and movie-themed snacks/treats. Viewers are encouraged to dress like their favourite character from the film. Admission to the event is by donation of cash.
Family Art Days runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery. No registration is required and all ages are welcome. Refreshments are included in the event.
All Weekend Long:
The Thunder Bay Museum will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. all weekend. Two exhibits include the contributions of women at the Canadian Car and Foundry in Fort William during the Second World and the travelling exhibit Treaty 3: Manidoo Mazina’igan, The Sacred Document.
