What’s Poppin’: February 8 and 9

Saturday:

Ungalli Clothing Co. is holding an Valentine's Pup-Up Photoshoot Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will offers residents the chance to bring their pups and get professional photos taken by Jamie Dawn Photography. All proceeds made will go towards the animals in our care.

Blues Society Saturdays is at Nortenos Taqueria with a Brad Rusnak and James Boraski at 12:30 p.m. and Blue Pretenders Duo at 2 p.m.

A Valentine Theme Quiz Night will be held at the Columbus Center at 5:30 p.m.

The Thunder Bay Community Auditorium will have a Fly Fishing Film Festival at 6 p.m.

Paramount Theatre will once again present Young Frankenstein at 7:30 p.m.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves basketball teams wrap up their regular season schedules at the Thunderdome against the Toronto Varsity Blues. The women's game starts at 6 p.m. and the men's game begins at 8 p.m.

Sunday:

Ice Races At Mission Bay continue at 12 p.m.

Winter FunDays strikes again from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with Winter Science with Let's Talk Science at the Volunteer Pool  and painted gift bags crafts with CAHEP at the Baggage Building Arts Centre.

Super Bowl Sunday will kick off at Nortenos Taqueria at 5:30 p.m.

A Superbowl Party will also be held at The Social at 6:30 p.m. It will have tons of raffle prizes and no door charge.

All Weekend Long:

The Northern Ontario mixed doubles curling championships are taking place at the Kakabeka Falls Curling Club. The games get underway at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and at 9 a.m. Sunday. The championship contest starts at 4 p.m. Sunday.
