What’s Poppin’: January 25 and 26

Saturday:

The Northern Ontario men's and women's provincial curling championships continue at the Port Arthur Curling Centre. Games take place at 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Makers Market will be held at the Wazison Arts, a new arts venue in Thunder Bay, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves volleyball team wrap up a weekend series with the York Lions. The game gets underway at 6 p.m. at the Thunderdome.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team will be playing against the Ottawa Gee-Gees at the Fort William Gardens at 7 p.m. Visit this link for more information on this and future games.

Cambrian Players Theatre is holding an improv show with its Cambrian Improv troupe with the possibility of mature language and suggestive content. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 plus fees. Visit the link for more information.

Wiggins Productions is presenting The Cover Show 31 at Black Pirates Pub on Saturday. Doors will open at 9 p.m. for the 19 plus event, with performances starting at 10 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door. Visit the link for more information.

Sunday:

The Northern Ontario men's and women's provincial curling championships wrap up at the Port Arthur Curling Centre with the men's and women's semifinals taking place at 9 a.m.. The women's final, which will see the winner compete at next month's Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, starts at 1:30 p.m.. The men's final begins at 5:30 p.m., with the winner representing Northern Ontario at the Montana's Brier in Kelowna, B.C. later this winter.

Sunday High Tea will be held with the Cardinal Chocolate Company at Red Lion Smokehouse from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will feature a selection of finger sandwiches, pâtisserie, hot tea and scones with jam and clotted cream. Tickets are $55 plus tax per person. Visit the link for more information.

Winter Fundays will continue this Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.  It will feature a winter science event with Let's Talk Science at the Churchill Pool and a pop culture collage craft with CAHEP. Winter FunDays runs weekly until March 16, offering a new free indoor and outdoor programming each week.

The Banff Centre Mtn. Film Fest World Tour will make a stop at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium at 7 p.m. Visit the link for more information.
