What’s Poppin’: July 27, 2024

Saturday:

Going from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Nolalu Country Market will be taking place at Nolalu Community Centre, 2266 Highway 588. There will be lots going on that you won't want to miss. There will also be an emergency preparedness chat, to learn with experts in the field of disaster, crisis and emergency management.

The city's growing Iranian and East Indian communities are welcoming the opening of the first grocery store exclusively selling products from those parts of the world. On Saturday at 12 p.m. there will be a grand opening at 635 Arthur St. W. where the new grocery store is located.

Sunday:

Starting on Sunday the Women’s Baseball World Cup will be at Port Arthur Stadium. Action begins at 10 a.m. with Canada’s first game taking place at 7:30 p.m. against Mexico.

All weekend long:

This year marks the 9th annual Bay and Algoma Buskers Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. This year will feature Egemen Ustun, Sam Malcom, The Kidd, Mackinley’s Delusions, Phineas Gauge, The Bay Street Bastards, Women in Silk and more.

Paranormal Cirque, Saturday and Sunday at Intercity Shopping Centre, will expose you to a unique creation of combined theatre, circus, and cabaret with a new European style flare. Cirque Italia is now presenting a brand-new show for a mature audience! No one under the age of 13 will be admitted to the show. Guests aged 13 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult with valid ID.
