What’s Poppin’: March 1 and 2
Saturday:
The 45th annual Sleeping Giant Loppet will kick off at the Sleeping Giant Provincial Park at 8 a.m.
A March Pop-Up Market at The Hub Bazaar will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Magnus Theatre will present The Canadian Curling Club at 7:30 p.m.
The Nipigon Ice Fest, Canada’s longest-running premiere ice climbing festival, will start at 5 p.m. It will feature climbing clinics, guest speakers, presentations, a gear raffle, dinner and more.
The Thunder Bay North Stars play the Sioux Lookout Bombers at Fort William Gardens. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday:
Ice Races continue this weekend at Mission Bay, starting at 12 p.m.
A High Tea event with the Cardinal Chocolate Company will be held at the Red Lion Smokehouse at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Family Art Days will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery. No registration is required and it is welcome to all ages with refreshments included.
Winter FunDays is back again this weekend from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Northwood Playfields at 609 James St N will host a snowshoe scavenger hunt with Youth Move. The Baggage Building Arts Centre will also host a winter tree art workshop with CAHEP.
The Kam River Fighting Walleye will play the Sioux Lookout Bombers at Norwest Arena. The game begins at 2:30 p.m.
All Weekend Long:
Magnus Theatre will present The Canadian Curling Club at 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
