What’s Poppin’: March 15 and 16

Saturday:

The Finlandia Co-operative of Thunder Bay is hosting its annual St. Urho's Day Celebration at the Prince Arthur Hotel from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. It is $5 for entry and attendees will get a commemorative button for coming.

There will be a Traditional Medicine Workshop with Raphael Moses, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at The Hub Bazaar, 507 Victoria Ave E. Free Admission, and all are welcome to explore natural remedies and holistic healing.

A Sea Shanty Family Friendly Show will be held at the Foundry at 5 p.m.

The India-Canada Cultural Association of Thunder Bay is celebrating its 50th anniversary at the Italian Cultural Centre from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It will have a lighting of the lamp ceremony and several dance performances.

The Thunder Bay North Stars Junior A Hockey Club will play at 7:30 p.m. at the Fort William Gardens.

Consortium Aurora Borealis will present an exhilarating evening of Dazzling Italian Baroque Arias at the St. Paul`s United Church from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The Clubroom will present Radar and The Rockets from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. It is $10 at the door to enter. Irish Stew and a bun for $5 will be available.

Sunday:

A Sculpting Realistic Animals workshop with Katie Lemieux will be held at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. In this two-part workshop, participants will create a large-scale, 10 to 15-inch realistic animal sculpture using armatures and a solid-sculpting technique. The completed sculptures will be bisque-fired to take home.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a festive BBQ with Children and Youth Programs as Winter FunDays continues at Minnesota Park from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Residents can wear green and enjoy BBQ favourites with a St. Paddy’s twist. The Baggage Building Arts Centre will also host Craft Grab Bags with CAHEP. Green Persians will be available at both locations, while supplies last.

All Weekend Long:

The Thunder Bay Museum will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. all weekend. Two exhibits include the contributions of women at the Canadian Car and Foundry in Fort William during the Second World and the travelling exhibit Treaty 3: Manidoo Mazina’igan, The Sacred Document.

The Cambrian Players will present Home I'm Darling at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
