Saturday, Sept. 10

Markets:

The Thunder Bay Country Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition: 425 Northern Ave. head on down to buy local groceries, crafts, and gifts from the talented, hard-working local people who created them.

Shop Local Tbay is holding a Back to School Fun Fest and Market at Boulevard Lake from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.Head out to enjoy the entertainment, food vendors, and draws and prizes all in support of Our Kids Count. There will also be 9 rocks hidden along the lake to find with prizes of backpacks filled with school goodies from local vendors.

Festivals and Fairs:

The Murillo Mutts Family Fall Fair is being held at the Murillo Fair Grounds (4557 Oliver Road) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $3 per family (cash only) head down to experience food, music and entertainment as well as prizes and surprises. 

The 18th Annual Vox Popular Media Arts Festival is taking place from Sept. 8. to Sept. 11. at the Definitely Superior Art Gallery in the old Cumberland Theatre at 115 Cumberland St N. The festival will feature films of all genres from Northwestern Ontario, Canada and Internationally. There will be concerts, performance art, and a visual art exhibition, Q&As and discussions with the artists to share knowledge, ideas, and experiences. The Franco Festival, a family event celebrating diverse Francophone cultures in Thunder Bay and NWO, is being held at 234 Van Norman Street from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Head down and learn more about local Francophone cultures.

Sports:

It's the second day of the Shuniah Forty Miner presented by Tbaytel, a two-day celebration of Thunder Bay’s mountain biking trails located at Kinsmen Park in the beautiful Trowbridge Forest. The feature event is an XC Marathon mountain bike race. Categories include a 12km, 24km, 48km, and a 5km mini-miner race for the youth. Find out more here.

Come and explore our roots in agriculture with Doors Open Thunder Bay! Experience Thunder Bay and area’s rich history, culture and community initiatives first-hand by visiting some of our most unique architectural structures, farming landscapes and heritage sites - all free to attend. Live Music:

Wiggins Productions proudly presents Divas & Legends Drag Cover Show at Black Pirates Pub. After a short summer break these Thunder Bay drag performers are back again for one of their favourite shows! Join the #tbaydrag queens & kings as they pay tribute to some of music's biggest pop divas and rock legends at Divas & Legends Drag Cover Show! Doors open at 9 p.m. Show starts at 10 p.m. 19+ (valid ID required)

Live Music:

Canadian legendary rockers Killer Dwarfs are coming back to Thunder Bay for the first time in almost 2 decades at Black Pirates Pub! Joining the bill is 12 Gauge Prayer and V3nom!! $25 advance tickets plus fees. 19+ doors open at 8 p.m.
