Markets:

The Thunder Bay Country Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition: 425 Northern Ave. head on down to buy local groceries, crafts, and gifts from the talented, hard-working local people who created them.

It's time for the Friends of the Thunder Bay Library Buck-a-Bag Book sale! Head down to Victoriaville Centre, outside the Frinds Book Store from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Books for all ages and interests as well as DVDs and audio books are available.

Creekside Nursery & Garden Centre and Trevisanutto's Greenhouse is hosting a two day Local Artisan Fall Market on Oct. 1 & 2. Check it out at 683 & 684 Woodcrest Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over 80 + local artisans, local food vendors and so much more!

Festivals:

Calling all the music and dance Lovers! VCC Thunder Bay proudly presents the most awaited Garba Event of the year, “Dandiya Night -2022.”
Head out to enjoy some traditional and modern music and Garba dances. No prior experience is needed. Vedic Cultural Centre, 1600 dease Street, Thunder Bay from Sept. 26 to Oct. 4. Get your tickets here! ($10 – $50)

Oktoberfest Celebrations:

Celebrate Oktoberfest 2022 with Lakehead Beer, Dawson Trail, and Tomlin Subdivision! They're hosting their first ever Oktoberfest celebration at the brewery, 206 Park Ave. starting at 12 p.m. This event is free to attend.

The Alley bar is hosting and Oktoberfest Party from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. and invite you to "come ring in October!" Show up, dress up in Germany’s finest Lederhosen, and mingle with all the fraulines. 236 Cumming St. No cover charge. 19+

Oktoberfest Party at The Waterhouse in the heart of Downtown Port Arthur this October 1st! With no cover charge, big tankards, and awesome prizes you don’t want to miss this event. The party starts at 9 p.m., and is open until 2 a.m.

Children and youth events:

It's time for Story Time With Thunder Bay Drag Queens at Waverley Public Library (285 Red River Road) from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. All ages are invited to this family-friendly event. Free to attend (limited seating capacity) Story Time with Thunder Bay Drag Queens features local drag artists, Lady Fantasia LaPremiere & Mz. Molly Poppinz as they read stories and do activities while fostering acceptance and appreciation of diversity.

Casting Calls:

Confederation College's Film Production Program (Conflix) is holding an open casting call for this upcoming year! No experience is neccisary, all ages and genders are welcome! Meet at Confederation College outside the Balmoral Street entrance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or inside the Shuniah building if it's raining. If you're unable to attend in person, you can also sign up online!

Live Music:

What if one of the most famous male duos of the 50's and 60's performed alongside one of the most iconic voices of all time?  The Everly Brothers and Roy Orbison crossed paths more than a few times in their prolific careers but not much is documented.  "Orbison & The Everly Bros. Reimagined" combines this unique vision for an unforgettable night of career spanning hits at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium starting at 7:30 p.m. Get your tickets here! (Starting at $57 each)

Captivating audiences with their expert playing skills and their energetic, innovative approach to cello repertoire, join guest cello duo VC2 as they play virtuosic contemporary rock and jazz influenced arrangements of Beethoven sonatas at St. Paul`s United Church from 8 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Get your tickets here!. ($25)
