Markets:
The Thunder Bay Country Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition: 425 Northern Ave. head on down to buy local groceries, crafts, and gifts from the talented, hard-working local people who created them.
The Peddlers Pop-up Market is happening at the hub Bazaar on Victoria Ave East from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The hub Bazaar is a business incubator with anchor vendors and pop-up peddlers every Saturday! There's a cafe, eatery and even a museum!
Visit Northern Nature Trading, a special kind of swap shop! Bring in items you've found in nature and trade them for things in the collection. You can trade things made by nature like rocks, shells, fossils and pine cones. Trading is based on points; you are awarded points for what you know about your item, what makes it different from similar ones and the quality (clean, good condition). The BIG Fleamarket and Craft Show is taking place at the CLE Coliseum. Browse over 80 tables with a huge selection of items from 10am to 3pm. For information call (807)767-5488. Admission is $2.00.
Festivals:
Culture Days is an annual national celebration that has become one of the Country's largest participatory cultural events. Each year, millions of people participate in arts and cultural events across the Country. Thunder Bay's cultural scene will be on full display with exciting interactive activities and diverse experiences that promise to spark creativity and celebrate community. Admission is free or pay-what-you-can and the event will be held at Marina Park.
Macgillivray Pipe Band's Scotch Night is back in 2023! Taster tickets are $80 and include samples of 5 single malt scotch whiskies. Live Theatre:
Magnus Theatre presents Meet My Sister by Bonnie Green, A hilarious Canadian play about sibling rivalry, aging parents and childhood memories, written by Bonnie Green (Dock Spider). Sisters, Blanche and Stella could not be more different but they must join forces when Mom, who is scheduled to move to a Long Term Care Facility, locks herself in her home and refuses to go.
