Family Activities:
For SnowDay on the Waterfront crafts with Our Kids Count will be held at Marina Park from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. residents are invited to head down and learn more about Our Kids Count and make a wooden snowman to take home.
It’s also time for Winter Science with Science North which will be held at Marina Park’s festival area from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Join Science North for some winter science fun!
Ice Activations will also be at Marina Park, weather permitting, so head on down to Marina Park to find the three ice activations located throughout the park. Don’t forget your camera! These activations will be in place throughout the duration of the SnowDay activities.
Local Sports:
The puck drops at 7 p.m. as the Lakehead University Thunder Wolves men’s team takes on the Brock Badgers at the Fort William Gardens. It’s recommended to do your screening online before you arrive and allow enough time to park, go through screening –and don’t forget to bring your proof of vaccination and have your ticket or season pass ready.
Theatre & Cinema
Over at Silver City, a few new movies are opening up this weekend. Kids are sure to love Rumble which is set in a world where monsters are global wrestling superstars and one unlikely champion steps into the ring.
Fans of the popular video game series Uncharted will enjoy seeing a young street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) go on his first treasure hunting adventure with wisecracking partner Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). In an adventure that spans the globe, the two go on a dangerous pursuit of "the greatest treasure never found" while also tracking clues that may lead to Nathan's long-lost brother.
Moviegoers can also go see Dog, the story of army ranger Briggs (Channing Tatum) and Lulu (a Belgian Malinois dog) who buckle into a 1984 Ford Bronco and race down the Pacific Coast in hopes of making it to a fellow soldier's funeral on time. Along the way, they'll drive each other completely crazy, break a small handful of laws, narrowly evade death, and learn to let down their guards in order to have a fighting chance of finding happiness.

For those over the legal drinking age, there are a few shows Saturday night to go check out. Back Forty is playing at the Wayland Bar & Grill starting at 10 p.m., age requirement: 19+ cover charge: TBA.
You can also catch DJ Big D who’s playing at the Foundry starting at 10 p.m., age requirement: 19+ cover charge: $5.
Sunday, Feb. 20
Family Activities:
This Sunday, Ice Fishing at Marina Park’s Pond Pavilion from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Try out ice fishing with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunting and MNFR. Eequipment will be provided.
And you can head over to Marina Park’s festival area for Snow Sculpting from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Join Willow Springs in sculpting a small winter woodland out of snow.

It’s Family Day Storytime with Glen Paterson and some of the TBSO’s talented wind and brass players! Berio’s Opus Number Zoo tells a rhythmic story about the history of music, while Milhaud’s La cheminée du roi René is one of the most popular chamber suites of the twentieth century.
Family Activities:
The Snow Sculpture Showcase starts on Monday and will go on until Sunday, Feb. 27. Visit Marina Park all week long to see the creative snow sculptures located in the Festival Area of the park. The competition has an open theme, allowing the 6 teams of artists to design and carve a variety of fun, family-friendly concepts.
The voting polls for your favourite snow sculpture will open on Monday, Feb. 21 and close on Sunday, Feb. 27.
You can vote online or in-person at Water Garden Pavilion (2210 Sleeping Giant Parkway, Thunder Bay) between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m.
