THUNDER BAY -- Environment Canada says smoke from wildfires in the Prairie provinces has led to an air quality alert being issued for Thunder Bay.

The government weather service said the smoke has led to poor air quality and reduced visibility in Thunder Bay.

Conditions are expected to improve on Sunday evening.

Environment Canada warns wildfire smoke can be dangerous to everyone's health, even at low concentrations and advise the public to take appropriate actions, especially those suffering from lung disease, the elderly, children, pregnant people and those who work outdoors.
