THUNDER BAY — It's going to be even colder in Thunder Bay in the coming hours than it was Sunday night and Monday.
Late Monday afternoon, Environment Canada revised its forecast for the city, and is now predicting the temperature will fall to -36 C by Tuesday morning.
The lowest temperature Monday was -33 C, which was reached at 8:00 a.m.
When the wind is factored in, it will feel like -46 C by Tuesday morning, with a risk of frostbite for exposed flesh in just minutes.
Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning, and it will be in effect until Tuesday afternoon, when the temperature is expected to rise somewhat.
Even so, the predicted high temperature of -21 C is still 12 degrees below the normal high for Jan. 21.
