THUNDER BAY — A Thunder Bay woman has been charged with impaired driving in connection with a collision at the Dawson Road Safeway store on Friday night.

A pickup truck smashed through the wall of the store just after 11pm, leaving a gaping hole.

Responding police officers said they observed signs of impairment in the driver, who was taken to hospital for assessment and treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Further testing determined she was impaired by alcohol.

The 32-year-old will appear in court at a later date.

Police said it was one of four impaired driving cases they dealt with between Friday and Monday morning.
