THUNDER BAY – Classes will resume Friday at Woodcrest Public School after electrical issues forced the closure of the building on Tuesday.
The Jumbo Gardens-area elementary school has been closed since Tuesday over an electrical issue.
That resulted in all students and staff being sent home.
A spokesperson for the Lakehead District School Board told TBnewswatch that Woodcrest's electrical system was damaged in the course of work being performed at the school.
"In the process of performing capital upgrades to the school, damage was incurred to the school’s electrical system," the board stated. "The system was taken off line and a component was put through performance testing and deemed safe for return to service."
