THUNDER BAY -- A 16-year-old male is facing several charges after Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to an early morning weapons call on Monday.
Officers with the Primary Response Branch responded to an address on Windsor Street shortly after 6:30 a.m. after receiving reports that an individual was in possession of weapons.
A suspect was located in a residence a short distance away and a firearm and two edged weapons were seized.
The suspect was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered, possession of prohibited device or ammunition, mischief under $5,000, breach of recognizance, three counts of failure to comply with sentence and two counts of possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order.
The accused has appeared in court and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
