THUNDER BAY – Brandon Bodnar’s 24-save shutout Saturday night delivered a fourth-straight triumph to the Thunder Bay North Stars.

Bodnar, in his first season with the Superior International Junior Hockey League club, was perfect in recording his third whitewashing in less than a month, the Stars exploding offensively in front of him to knock off the visiting Minnesota Iron Rangers 7-0 at Fort William Gardens.

Brendan Gillis had a pair of goals and added a pair of helpers for the North Stars, who improved to 14-7-3 on the season.

Alex Leonidas, with his first in a Thunder Bay uniform, Alexander Erwin and Alex Maticic scored for the North Stars, who also got goals from Bradley Thrower and Joel Willan.

Thrower also had a pair of assists.

Rob Ivy took the loss in nets for Minnesota (1-19-3), stopping 34 of 41 shots.

It was Bodnar’s sixth career shutout and third this season.
