FORT FRANCES, Ont. – Brandon Bodnar is about as hot as a goalie can get.

The Thunder Bay North Stars netminder on Friday recorded his second straight shutout, stopping 32 shots to lead his team to a 4-0 road win over his former team, the Fort Frances Lakers.

Bodnar, named the SIJHL’s most recent player of the week, leads the Superior International Junior Hockey League with five shutouts.

It was the 11th straight triumph for the Stars, who remained six points behind Dryden in the race for second place.

The Ice Dogs dumped the last place Minnesota Iron Rangers 7-2 on Friday night.

Kyle Auger, Justin Muir, Alex Maticic and Avery Siau scored for the Stars, who led 2-0 after one and 3-0 through two.

Siau also had an assist for Thunder Bay and hit the 50-point mark with his third-period tally, his 19th goal of the season.

Ismael Ralsten stopped 33 shots in nets for fifth-place Fort Frances, who slipped to 11-26-5. Thunder Bay travels to Thief River Falls to take on the top-ranked Norskies on Saturday night.
