Canadian Kyle Hann is the top prospect to suit up for the Thunder Bay Border Cats this past season, according to rankings released Wednesday by the Northwoods League.

The summer collegiate baseball circuit ranked the Mississippi State product 81st on its top 200 list, the first of seven Border Cats players to make the grade.

“He was a beast in just 27 games, hitting .323 while knocking in 16 RBI and scoring 11 runs ... Hann was named to the Big League Dreams North team and walked 13 times, swiped eight bases and had six extra-base hits,” his description reads.

Reliever Zack Thiac was ranked two slots lower, in 83rd, the only other Cat to crack the top 100.
Pitcher Jason Vosler (104th),infielder Dylan Becker (107), infielder Tyler Duplantis (110), outfielder Cory Kay (152) and second baseman Phillip Lyons also earned nods on the annual list.

St. Cloud catcher Adam Martin, who hit .315 with 10 homers and 51 RBI, topped the list. Wilmar 1B Marc Flores was second, with Battle Creek’s Cam Gibson rounding out the top three.

In other Northwoods League news, officials announced earlier in the week that the Eau Claire Express will move into the North Division to accommodate two new expansion teams.
