DeGrazia named to Team Canada East

Thunder Bay North Star Nikolas Campbell still in the running for Team Canada West and a shot to take part in next month's World Junior A Challenge.

SUDBURY – Thunder Bay’s Nicholas DeGrazia is headed to the World Junior A Challenge.

DeGrazia, who led the Thunder Bay Kings at last year’s Telus Cup, is enjoying a breakout season wihtthe Rayside-Balfour Canadians of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The 16-year-old has 13 goals and 27 points in 24 games with the Canadians, and a goal and an assists in three appearances with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League.

DeGrazia was one of 22 players named to Team Canada East for the tournament, being held from Dec. 7 to Dec. 15 in Dawson Creek, B.C.

Thunder Bay’s Nikolas Campbell is one of 44 players competing for a spot on Team Canada West, which will host a training camp from Dec. 1 to Dec. 3 in Calgary. He’s the lone Superior International Junior Hockey League player to gain an invite.
