A steal of three in the fifth end by Sudbury’s Tracy Horgan proved to be the downfall for Thunder Bay’s Ashley Kallos rink in Draw 5 at the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
Hogan, who took a 2-0 lead in the second, scored two more in the fourth to lead 4-2, then went up five in the fifth with the steal.
Kallos struck for two in the sixth, but shook hands after Horgan scored three more in the seventh to earn the 10-4 triumph.
The Kallos foursome, which includes lead Jessica Williams, second Laura Vieira and third Oye-Sem Won, fell to 1-2 at the women’s provincial curling championship, tied for sixth with Cathy Auld.
Three rinks, skipped by Allison Flaxey, Julie Reddick and Julie Hastings, remained undefeated on Wednesday at 3-0.
Kallos takes on former champion Sherry Middaugh (2-1) on Wednesday evening.
