Ultimate Gymnastics competitive team continued to add to its impressive medal collection over the past few weeks, with athletes bringing home more than their fair share of awards from competitions on both sides of the border.

THUNDER BAY -- Ultimate Gymnastics competitive team continued to add to its impressive medal collection over the past few weeks, with athletes bringing home more than their fair share of awards from competitions on both sides of the border.

In early March, Christie Collinns, Emily Ukrainec and Katerina Hamar, members of the clubs provincial squad, attended their third and final WAG Provincial Qualifier on the season in Ottawa, with all three athletes earning themselves a berth in the Ontario Championships, being held this weekend in Toronto.

Collinns, the club’s lone competitor to make the trip to Ontario Championships finished with a stellar 4th place on Vault and 10th place in the All-Around in Level 9 Age 14/15 bracket

In mid-March, Katie Lychek, Paige Spanninga, Shaylin Wapoose, Shayne Northey, Alyssa Pylvainen and Lexi Rabachuk converged on the Twin Cities to take part in the 2017 Gopher Invite hosted by North Shore Gymnastics with the entire team making multiple trips to the podium. .

In late March, fifteen members of the team, including Ryenn Brisard, Audrey Maxwell, Dylan Drebit, Hanna Hoogsteen, Jordan Mastrangelo, Amanda Mastrangelo, Mia Caldwell, Sasha Ling, Jessica Otto, Jaida Petersen-Brown, Zara Reboks, Alexa Timms, Sarah McChristie, Tiara Sutton and Maya Grunys, headed to the Tumblers Gymnastics Happy Birthday Canada meet in the nation’s capital and returned with the lion’s share of bling. Several Gold, Silver and Bronze medals over-filled their suitcases for the trip home.
