It is with great sadness that we announce that our loving mother and Nana, Agnes Rooney passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in Pinewood Court.

Agnes was born and raised in Fort William, she attended St.Stan’s and St. Patrick schools.

Following her schooling she worked at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce prior to getting married. Agnes was a devoted wife and mother who found great enjoyment baking, cooking and entertaining her family and friends.

Time spent with her family at Trout Lake and trips to Florida were special to her. Agnes greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. 

Agnes is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Robert; son, Robert (Audrey), granddaughter, Nicole (Rob) Nash and their children Carson, Brady and Cameron; grandson, Joel (Shelby) Rooney; son, Rick (Tracey Coultis); grandson, Tyler Rooney; granddaughter, Cathy (Aaron) Kromm and their children Keira, Lucas and Hunter; granddaughter, Cynthia Anderson and her children Lily and Caiden; brother-in-law Allan (Ann) Rooney, California, sister-in-law Dorothy Hogan and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Reginald and Agnes Hogan; daughters, Karen Anderson and Colleen Rooney; sister, Alice Hogan; brothers, Reginald (Marge) Hogan, Albert Hogan and Dignan Hogan. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, at St. Patrick's Cathedral celebrated by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G..

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,

If friends desire, memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to all the staff at Pinewood Court for the care and compassion that was given to Agnes during her time with you.

 Agnes Rooney will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
